Client Brief
Joy’s to provide a complete event production solution for a product launch - media creation, set design, technical staging, equipment supply and presentation management.
Joy's Solution
Joy’s constructed a dramatic high resolution 18m widescreen in the Lindley Hall, designed to match JCDecaux’s Premiere digital billboards. A unique replica of “The Torch”, one of the company’s a landmark signage boards, was also erected in the room featuring a 3m x 2m screen inset.
Two edge blended 35HD projectors were used in a front projection format on the main screen to ensure bright, High Definition visuals with presentation graphics designed to complement the Premiere brand. Joy’s own 3DLive system was used to create stunning moving backgrounds, designed to give the glistening effect of sunlight shining through water.
Two Christie HD12K projectors were used to light the Torch screen and two further HD12Ks rear-projected the 3m wide JCDecaux logo and a range of other company logos in lozenges underneath the screen. These were designed to help replicate the look of the real billboard. The specialist screen control system, Spyder, was used to manage the screen content on the main screen as well as the Torch element.
The custom built screen was edged with a brushed aluminium style border, which was back lit with LED tubes to mimic the coloured Halo function of the JCDecaux screens. Black panelling surrounded the screen and created a neat finish to ensure the images had maximum impact.
More than twenty moving head lamps were used to create a stunning, dynamic lighting display to complement the on screen graphics. Audio reproduction was provided by a high quality line array. An efficient two camera “image magnification” system was used to ensure the presenters received maximum exposure on screen.
